Fire Sprinkler Project Manager

Fire Sprinkler Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of projects from contract deliverables to project closeout/completion.
- Manage fire sprinkler projects to meet the requirements of the AHJ, state building codes, insurance and NFPA standards. (Commercial, Industrial, Residential, & Government applications)
- Perform contract reviews for legal terms and scope of work required with Sales Account Manager, Vice President, & President.
- Work closely with the Design & Field Managers to track department labor hours in estimate.
- Perform job site visits, field surveys, & gather any feedback from the field to aid in the overall flow of projects.
- Review/Interpret Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, & Civil Site building drawings.
- Review project plans/contract specifications, purchase materials, schedule pipe-on-job dates, schedule field labor milestone dates, write change orders, write RFIs, create & update billing schedules, and prepare contract closeout documents.
- Attend job site meetings to stay current with general contractor/owner requests, to report field installation progress, and to ensure an efficient installation of the design through coordination with all other trades involved.
- Schedule material fabrication lead times & deliveries, monitor material cost fluctuations & variations from estimates/quotes.
- Communicate & Coordinate with general contractor, AHJ, MEP contractors, Architect/Engineer, and/or customer.
- Work closely with the company design team, sales team, field team, administrative team, & the General Contractor’s team.
- Support the Fire Protection Service/Inspections Department with any Project Management tasks as necessary if required.
- Apply and Build excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, & leadership skills.
- Attend formal training courses as necessary to build on knowledge in the fire protection field.
- Understand & Apply basic knowledge of computer skills (MS Office suite/software, word processing, Excel functions, & Windows operating systems).
- The ability to multi-task is a requirement for this position.
Required:
Previous Fire Sprinkler Project Management experience. Prefer a minimum of 5 years of Fire Sprinkler Project Management experience or related fire sprinkler field installation or supervision experience.
Able to communicate well and multi-task.
Have a clean driving record to qualify to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to pass a drug test. S&S is a drug free workplace.
Sprinkler Fitter Foreman
As a member of S&S Midwest Fire Protection’s team, you will be expected to contribute your talents and energies to improve the environment and quality of the Company, as well as the Company’s services. In return, you will be given opportunities to grow and enhance in your career.
Sprinkler Fitter Foreman Responsibilities:
- Manage the on-site installation of the Sprinkler Systems.
- Manage installation team members consisting of Journeyman and Apprentices.
- Coordinate with the General Contractors and other trades to ensure a successful project.
- Attend job meetings.
- Train new apprentices on proper installation processes and tool use.
- Look ahead on pipe and material deliveries.
- Lead in a professional manner. Punctuality is a must.
- Communicate with the S&S Superintendent and Project Manager as required.
- Required to work safely and monitor other employees in safe work practices.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Be proficient at reading and understanding blueprints and drawing details.
Required:
Must be 18 years of age.
Minimum of 5 years field installation experience of Fire Sprinkler Systems.
Able to communicate well and multi-task.
Have a clean driving record to qualify to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to pass a drug test. S&S is a drug free workplace.
S&S is a signatory contractor with Local Union 669. If you are not currently a Local Union 669 member, you will be required to join.
Ability to work at heights.
Willing to climb ladders.
Willing to lift at least 50lbs.
Licensed in the State of Ohio to Install sprinkler systems. Additional Ohio licenses are a plus.
OSHA 30 Certification is required.
Willing to travel within Ohio to jobsites.
Sprinkler Fitter Journeyman
As a member of S&S Midwest Fire Protection’s team, you will be expected to contribute your talents and energies to improve the environment and quality of the Company, as well as the Company’s services. In return, you will be given opportunities to grow and enhance in your career.
Sprinkler Fitter Journeyman Responsibilities:
- Work under a Foreman to perform duties associated with the installation of Fire Sprinkler systems.
- Journeyman are required to be able to work independently within a project with instruction from a Foreman. You will be required to instruct Apprentices in your crew on the best practices of sprinkler system installations.
- Be proficient at reading and understanding blueprints and drawing details.
- Required to work safely and monitor other employees in safe work practices.
- Must be able to properly and safely work with tools and equipment.
- Be on time to work daily.
- Communicate with Foreman and S&S Superintendent.
- Strong problem solving skills.
Required:
At least 18 years old.
Minimum of 5 years field installation experience of Fire Sprinkler Systems.
Able to communicate well and multi-task.
Ability to pass a drug test. S&S is a drug free workplace.

As a member of S&S Midwest Fire Protection’s team, you will be expected to contribute your talents and energies to improve the environment and quality of the Company, as well as the Company’s services. In return, you will be given opportunities to grow and enhance in your career.
Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of fire sprinkler installations.
- Work in hot, cold, wet, and windy environments.
- Take direction from Foreman and Journeyman on the proper installation techniques, use of tools, and safety.
- You will be taught to read blueprints and knowledge of how sprinkler systems work.
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual.
- Communicate to Foreman and Journeyman material and pipe quantities.
- Keep a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate with the S&S Superintendent.
- Engage in continuous learning to understand fire protection codes and best practices.
- Strong problem solving skills.
Required:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Able to communicate well and multi-task.
Ability to pass a drug test. S&S is a drug free workplace.
Be physically able to perform job duties.
Ability to work at heights.
Ability to complete a 5 year on-line Apprenticeship and to attend once a month in-person training classes.
Must be 18 years of age.
Willing to climb ladders.
