Hose and standpipe inspections are routine evaluations of fire department hose connections, standpipe risers, and related equipment to ensure readiness, code compliance, and proper operation during fire emergencies. These inspections help maintain the functionality of fire suppression systems for building occupants and firefighters.
When performing hose/standpipe inspections, S&S Fire Protection will:
- Inspect standpipe risers, hose valves, and connections for physical damage, corrosion, and accessibility.
- Verify proper signage, caps, and pressure gauges.
- Test water flow and pressure where required to ensure adequate system performance.
- Examine fire hoses, nozzles, and cabinets for damage, wear, or missing components.
- Document inspection results and identify any deficiencies or maintenance needs.
- Provide reports to building owners, managers, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) in compliance with NFPA 25 and local fire codes.
