Special hazard inspections are periodic evaluations of fire protection systems designed for unique or high-risk hazards, such as clean agent suppression systems, foam systems, chemical storage protection, or high-value equipment areas. These inspections ensure that specialized systems operate properly, comply with applicable codes, and provide effective protection for people, property, and critical assets.
When performing special hazard inspections, S&S Fire Protection will:
- Inspect system components, including control panels, piping, nozzles, valves, and detection devices.
- Verify system readiness, agent levels, pressures, and operational functionality.
- Conduct functional testing according to NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 12, NFPA 17, NFPA 2001) and manufacturer guidelines.
- Document inspection results and identify deficiencies or maintenance needs.
- Provide reports to building owners, managers, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Recommend repairs, recharge, or system upgrades as required.
