Design/build is a project delivery method in which a fire protection contractor is responsible for both the engineering/design and the installation/construction of fire protection systems under a single contract.
In a design/build approach, S&S Midwest Fire Protection will:
- Work directly with the owner, architect, or general contractor to determine the project’s fire protection needs.
- Develop the concept, engineering calculations, and detailed fire protection system drawings
(e.g., sprinkler layouts, hydraulic calculations, alarm system designs). - Coordinate with local code officials and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) for review and approval.
- Procure materials and installs the system according to the approved design.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and hand-off to the owner.
