When performing remote FDC installation or servicing, S&S Fire Protection will:
- Install remote FDCs at accessible locations for fire department vehicles while ensuring proper connection to the building’s sprinkler or standpipe system.
- Inspect FDCs for damage, obstructions, corrosion, or leaks that could impede firefighting operations.
- Service components such as caps, clappers, check valves, and signage to maintain proper operation.
- Test the FDC and connected fire protection system to confirm water flow and compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local fire codes.
- Document all inspections, installations, and testing for building owners and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Provide recommendations for preventive maintenance to ensure ongoing accessibility and reliable system performance.
